The New Mexico School Boards Association conducted the 2026 Board Institute during the Annual Legislative Session in Santa Fe which allowed board members an opportunity to advocate for education priorities with State Legislators. The Board Institute featured informative general sessions and a variety of workshops on school governance and public education topics.

2026 School Law Conference
June 4-6, 2026
Albuquerque, NM
The New Mexico School Boards Association and the Cuddy and McCarthy Law Firm will host the 47th Annual School Law Conference for school board members, superintendents and school personnel. The conference features presentations on the latest legal issues facing public education and includes numerous breakout sessions to assist new and veteran school board members, administrators and educators.

2026 Leadership Retreat

The New Mexico School Boards Association will conduct the 2026 Leadership Retreat for School Board Leaders, Board of Directors and other School Board Members who wish to take advantage of NMSBA training opportunities. The Retreat will focus on leadership strategies and skills for new and veteran school board members.

2026 Annual Convention
December 3-5, 2026
Albuquerque, NM
The New Mexico School Boards Association will conduct its 2026 Annual Convention December 3-5, 2026. The Convention begins Thursday afternoon, December 3 with Newly Elected Training as well as Veteran Board Member Training and our Board of Directors Meeting. On Friday morning, December 4 attendees will listen to several informative keynote speakers; attend the Annual Recognition Awards Luncheon and participate in the Annual Delegate Assembly to adopt legislative priorities and elect state officers. The Convention will continue on Saturday, December 5 with several breakout sessions on important school governance and public education topics.
